Structure Fire - Kinsdale Drive, Ross Township (3/4/2003)

Berkeley Hills Station 247, Laurel Gardens Station 253, Fire Police Station 254, Ross Fire Marshall 510, Etna Station 149 (RIT) and Ross/West View EMS with Rescue 40 were dispatched at about 1pm to the 100 block of Kinsdale Drive for a reported structure fire. Shortly after dispatch, reports were received that there was possibly a child trapped inside. Firefighters arrived on scene to find the second floor fully involved, a 4-year old boy tapped inside, and a desperate father inside trying to rescue his son. Rescue personnel soon emerged from the house with the boy who was unscathed but taken to the hospital for evaluation. It didn't take long for the 2-alarm fire to be brought under control. Evergreen Station 246, West View Station 297 (Air 4), and Elfinwild Station 261 also assisted.
