Structure
Fire - City of Pittsburgh (4/28/2003)
City of Pittsburgh Fire Units were dispatched around 2:30am for a working
structure fire in the Brighton Heights section of the city. Units found multiple
structures on fire on the Woods Run, McClure Street and Richardson Street areas.
Within 20 minutes of dispatch, the fire was upgraded to five alarms. The fire
was brought under control in about 2-1/2 hours. Multiple stations from the City
responded to battle the blaze that destroyed five homes and a historic lumber
yard. Initial reports suggest the fire began in the lumber yard but the investigation
continues. No injuries were reported.
