Structure Fire - Allenport, Washington Co. (4/30/2003)

At approx. 10:25pm, a Rostraver Medic Unit was traveling along Main Street in Allenport (Washington County) when they noticed a house on fire. They radioed to Washington County 911 and Allenport Station 40, Roscoe Station 16, Stockdale Station 17, Charleroi Station 33, and Mon Valley EMS were immediately dispatched. The fire was under control at 11:10pm, but firefighters were not able to save the elderly couple who lived there. The State Police Fire Marshall is investigating and preliminary reports indicated careless smoking may have caused the deadly blaze.
