Car Carrier Fire - McKnight Road, Ross Township (5/13/2003)

At around 4:18pm, Newcom 911 was flooded with reports of a loaded car carrier on fire in the parking lot of Ross Towne Center on McKnight Road. Berkeley Hills Station 247 and Ross Fire Police were dispatched. First arriving units found a Car Carrier loaded with a total of 6 Ford Explorers fully engulfed with flames. The fire was quickly extinguished but not after an estimated $300,000 worth of damage was caused. Laurel Gardens Station 253, Allegheny County Hazardous Materials Unit - Silver Team and Ross Fire Marshals assisted.
