Hazardous Materials Incident - Cranberry Township (6/4/2003)


Cranberry Station 21 and Cranberry EMS Station 51 were dispatched around 10am to UPMC Cranberry Place nursing facility for a strange odor in the building with occupants feeling ill effects. A extraordinary effort was put fourth in order to evacuate the 121 residents in 28 minutes. Mars Station 18, Callery Station 19, Valencia Station 17, Zelienople Station 22, Marshall Station 185 and Butler County Haz-Mat Team 100 assisted. EMS was assisted by McCandless-Franklin Park EMS, Ross/West View EMS, Evergreen Station 246 with Ross/West View's Mass Casualty Trailer, Harmony EMS. Richland EMS, Northwest EMS, and Economy EMS. The source of the odor was not located.
