Fire - City of Pittsburgh (6/22/2003)
At 2:26am, 33 Truck was dispatched to assist at a commercial fire alarm in
the Downtown section of the City. As the garage door went up the truck was met
by several frantic neighbors who were pointing at an apartment building that
was heavily involved in fire. The Lieutenant called it in and 32 Engine, 37 Engine,
3 Engine, 33 Truck, 4021 (Battalion Chief), 36 Engine for the Go Team, Safety
Officer 4022, Safety Unit 4059, Mac 2, Rescue 1 and two Medic Units were dispatched
on the first alarm. Firefighters had the fire under control at 2:55am but not
after a woman and her son lost their lives. 38 Engine, 5 Engine, 6 Truck, Deputy
Chief 402, 6 Engine, 4 Engine, Deputy Chief 405 and Operations Chief Unit 40
were also on the three alarm blaze.
