Shortly after 02:00 Perry Hiway crews were called to the 8100 block of
Peach Street for a report of a structure fire. On arrival crews found a
heavily involved single story residential building. Crews made an initial
attack but were forced to evacuate due to the rapid fire spread and
limited accessibility. Several rooms of the structure were being used for
storage and advancement was hindered. Tower Ladder 449 from Kearsarge Fire
Department was set up and used to knock down the fire. Crews were then
able to resume interior operations and complete overhaul. No one was home
at the time of the fire. The residence is currently for sale, and is one
of several suspicious fires in the area over the last year. The
Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal is investigating the fire.
3 Minor injuries were reported and all were transported for evaluation at
various hospitals. All were treated and released.
Perry Hiway was assisted by Kearsarge Fire Department, McKean Hose Co,
Waterford Fire Department, Kuhl Hose Co, and Emergycare.
