About Us

Shortly before 2am, Emsworth Station 148, Northwest EMS Station 192 and Ohio Township Police were dispatched to a residence on Ohio Street for a possible structure collapse and natural gas leak. The residents had called 911 because they smelled natural gas and they believed their house was collapsing.

148 Rescue 3 and 148 Engine 2 responded and found the basement wall in sector 2 had given way due to excavation for a foundation of a new addition to the house. All occupants had been evacuated.

Crews monitored the weakening house which had sagged approximately 4-5 inches until the excavator could respond to the scene to begin shoring the house. No injuries were reported.
