At 7:15am, Armstrong County 911 dispatched Manor Township Company 160, Ford Cliff Company 80, Ford City Company 90 Rescue and Ford City EMS for a vehicle accident with entrapment on State Route 66 near the old 66 Drive-In Theatre. Upon arrival, crews found a car wedged between a sheared off utility pole and an embankment with the rear of the car suspended in the air and the dash pinning the legs of the driver. EMS requested Stat MedEvac 16 to the scene to assist. The flight crew in turn summoned a Trauma Physician and Command Physician from UPMC Presbyterian to the scene by helicopter for a possible amputation of the driver's leg. The patient was extricated after about 90 minutes and his leg was not surgically removed.
