At 09:48 on Saturday, July 22nd, Quaill Station 249, Fairview Station 250, West View Station 297, Seville Station 251,Berkeley Hills Station 247 RIT, Etna Station 149 RIT, and Ross-West View EMS/Rescue were dispatched for a possible house explosion at 396 Jack’s Run Road in Station 249’s local. 249 C-1 arrived on-scene at 09:51 and set up command, reporting an explosion, good fire, and requested EMS step it up for one male patient down in the yard. 251 Engine arrived and laid in to the scene. 249 Engine arrived next and laid a supply line in to hook up to 297 Truck, which arrived shortly thereafter. Ross/West View EMS transported one male patient to Mercy Hospital, where he is listed in serious condition in the burns/trauma unit. RIT Operations were headed up by Berkeley Hills Station 247, and supplemented with Etna 149 RIT. The entire house was a total loss from the time of the explosion. Station 148 (Emsworth) was placed on standby during the fire, which was declared under control at 11:06. Units continued with overhaul, and finally cleared the scene at 14:23 hours. - Jason Harrold
