Commercial Structure Fire - Beaver Falls Borough (5/4/2005)

At approximately 11:00pm, Beaver Falls Station 11 was dispatched for a confirmed structure fire at the intersection of Fourth Street and Seventh Avenue. Chief 1110 arrived on scene and reported a two story brick commercial structure, approximately 60' x 100' with the second floor fully involved. Chief 1110 requested New Brighton Station 84 for their tower as well as Patterson Township Station 90 and West Mayfield Station 99 for engines and manpower.

A defensive operation was initiated using master streams and ladder towers. Chippewa Station 22 was dispatched for an additional ladder truck. The fire was under control in about two hours after extensive hydraulic overhaul was performed due to the instability of the structure. The fire was later determined to be arson. Damage to the warehouse, which was used by a produce and garden company, was estimated at over $750,000.
