Structure
Burn Class - Berkeley Hills Fire Department (5/21/05)
The members of Berkeley Hills Fire Department
along with members of the Etna, Peebles, Elfinwild, and Evergreen Fire Departments
conducted a Structure Burn Class at a donated house on Sangree Road. Tuesday
and Thursday nights were spent in a lecture and a prep class before the burn
on Saturday. Work was done throughout the week at the house to get it ready
to go for Burn Day. During the Burn Groups of 4 students rotated through
8 different fireground functions including Engine Co. Ops, Truck Co. Ops, Command,
RIT, etc, so everyone got a chance to do a little bit of everything. After
the final rotation of students, master stream operations were set up and the
house was burned to the ground as part of the training. A great time was
had by all. Thanks to all who participated, the Instructors and also to
those organizations and businesses that helped make this happen.
