Commercial Structure Fire - Shaler Township (3/3/06)

On Friday March 3rd, at around 9:25am, Allegheny County Communications dispatched units to a commercial structure fire on Babcock Blvd., Shaler Twp.  Bauerstown Station 259, Cherry City Station 260, Millvale Station 191, Evergreen Station 246 and Mt. Troy Station 239 were alerted.

259 C-2 arrived on-scene and reported a fully involved working structure fire in the "Autoworks" building and assumed command.

EMS was notified of one patient with burns to the hands and arms. Seville Station 251 was dispatched for RIT support to Station 239..

Due to typical daylight staffing problems, Berkley Hills Station 247 was diverted from a fire alarm to respond to the scene.  Command called to add Station 149 for additional RIT because it took the county about 7 to 10 minutes after 239 made the request to dispatch Seville.  Just wanted to share that with you.
