Residential Structure Fire - City of New Kensington (3/3/06)

On the morning of March 3,2006 New Kensington Station 56-2 was dispatched for a confirmed working structure fire with entrapment in the 500 block of 5th Avenue . The first person in the station had additional units activated bringing New Kensington Stations56-1 & 56-3 to the scene. Arnold Station 95-2 was dispatched to stand-by in their station to cover for the City of New Kensington. New Kensington Police were the first to arrive and helped the residents escape to safety. One of the residents was taking a shower when the fire started and had to jump out of a window. The fire also spread to a vehicle adjacent to the house .The alarm came in at 8:03 A.M  . The outcome of the fire was a small foster child playing with a lighter.
