Vehicle Into a Fire Station - O'Hara Township (11/11/2006)

November 11, 2006 - At approximately 9:40am, 217, 218, 219 Rescue and 265 were dispatched to a MVA vehicle into a structure at 152 Kittanning Pike (Pleasant Valley VFC Station). Upon arrival, 217 Captain reported no entrapment, and structural damage to the fire station. Medics took the driver for evaluation.

Apparantly the driver was traveling down Kittanning Pike, where she struck a small retaining wall, took out 2 telephone pole guide wires, across 217 parking lot and lodged the car into the building. The guide wires wrapped around the power lines. While all units were on-scene, the guide wires shorted out against the power lines, which snapped and landed on 219 Rescue with 2 members inside. The 2 responders were advised to stay in the vehicle until Duquesne Light showed up.
