Commercial Structure Fire
- New Kensington (12/07/2006)
December 7,2006 - At 10:55 p.m. The
New Kensington Fire Dept's 56-1 & 56-3 were dispatched for a reported Structure
Fire in the 800 blk of 5th Ave. The NKPD was first to arrive and reported heavy
smoke coming from the Structure and a confirmed working structure fire at the
Pittsburgh Beauty Academy building. New Kensington 56-2 was then dispatched to
the scene and as the fire spread New Kensington Station 56-5 & Arnold Station
95-1 was dispatched for a snorkel assist as well as Highland Hose Co out of Tarentum
for a ladder assist. Arnold Station 95-2 was dispatched to New Kensington 56-1
to stand by for the City of New Kensington . As the fire grew larger and firefighters
needed to thaw out from the temps being about 15 degrees New Kensington Station
56-4 was brought into the scene as well as Arnold 95-2 and Lower Burrell # 3
Station 69 And Pioneer Hose Company's rehab unit and Snorkel were dispatched
to scene for a manpower assist and Upper Burrell Station 115 was brought in to
stand by at New Kensington Station 56-4 and Eureka Hose Co out of Tarentum was
dispatched to Station 56-5 for stand by also assisting at the scene was The Salvation
Army unit and Arnold Ambulance provided rehab. New Kensington Ambulance also
was on scene.
