Commercial Structure Fire - Penn Hills (12/31/2006)

December 31, 2006 - At approximately 7pm a passing motorist called 911 to report a building containing the Chatter Box Day Care was on fire along Frankstown Rd. The address intially was given for the wrong location and Fire Chief Pete from 225 left his residence and quickly located the correct building next to Bobo's Carwash. There was some inital concern that the apartment above the daycare was occupied but it was found empty. Fire crews from 225 and 227 responded quickly and were able to contain the fire which may have been caused by plumbing work performed in the building earlier in the day. Fire Marshal Jack Mason CFI is investigating.
