May 5th, 2007 - ALLEGHENY CO, PITTSBURGH, PA - Around 10:30am on May 5th, City of Pittsburgh firefighters were dispatched to a residential structure fire located on Colby Street in the Northview Heights section of the city. The first arriving engine arrived moments later and reported smoke showing from a ranch style home. Firefighters soon learned the home was vacant and command ordered firefighters begin a defensive attack. An aggressive defensive attack was initiated while a truck crew began to ventilate the roof. The fire was quickly placed under control and as soon as conditions were safe, firefighters entered to perform overhaul. There were no reported injures and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
