Excavator Fire - Freeport (01/14/2008)

January 14th, 2008 - Freeport, Westmoreland County, PA -- Freeport Fire-Rescue, Freeport EMS Inc. Sta. 70, and South Buffalo Sta. 220 were dispatched to Route 28 near the Slate Lick exit for a vehicle fire. Upon arrival Emergency crew found an excavator fully involved in the middle of the woods. Crew extinguished the fire within a few minutes. The excavator was a total loss. No injuries were reported. Crews were on scene for 45 minutes.
