12/02/2004 - Lincoln Boro MVA
1200 block Lovedale Road
Units were dispatched for a personal rescue
call on Lovedale Road. Engine 184-Lincoln, Ambulance 610-Lincoln, Medic 520-Elizabeth
Twp EMS, Rescues 123-Clairton, 147-Central, and 183-Liberty were toned out for
a car halfway down a hillside with an occupant still in the vehicle. Elizabeth
Twp EMS were first on scene and reported that the vehicle was now on the roof
with unknown entrapment or injuries. They also reported very icy conditions.
As units arrived on scene it was made apparent that the truck was unoccupied
at the time it flipped over.
Assistant 184 established command and had Rescue 123 block traffic at the Lincoln
Sunoco at the Lovedale and Lincoln Blvd intersection. Rescue 183 blocked traffic
at Mill Hill and Lovedale. Rescue 147 setup lights and secured the vehicle. Engine
184 assisted with the cleanup.
The vehicle apparently lost control on a patch
of ice, went up a driveway, hit another vechicle, and came to a rest on a hillside,
before ultimately flipping over onto the road. Three other cars were involved
when they tried to stop on the road and ran into each other. No serious injuries
were reported and 1 person was taken to a local hospital for precautionary measures.
Two
vehicles were towed, PennDot salted the road and all units cleared.
