- Mudslide Into a Structure
2200 block Lincoln Blvd
At 4:18am, Lincoln Engine 184 was dispatched
to assist the police with a mudslide that carried a car onto the roadway. Engine
184 responded from another pumping detail and arrived on scene to find the road
totally blocked by mud and debris.
The mudslide was happening next to the house, so the residents were told to evacuate.
PennDot blocked traffic at Lovedale and Lincoln Blvd and also at Bellbridge.
Dominions Peoples Gas were called to shutoff the gas. After the car was towed
and the gas company confirmed gas was off, Engine 184 set more flares and cones
right at the mudslide and cleared. PennDot kept trucks at the intersections to
prevent traffic until they could clear the road.
At 13:49, Lincoln Engine 184,
and Liberty Rescue and Engine 183 were called to assist with helping the home
owners remove personal items as the mudslide was getting worse and the house
was becoming more of a risk of sliding.
