06/23/2005 - Millvale - Commercial Structure Fire

North Avenue

A fire broke out on the 2nd floor apartment at approximately 9:00am June23, 200 in the Mason Jar bar located along North Avenue, a narrow 2 lane main street in Millvale, PA. The Police chief was the first on scene and rescued a  gentleman trapped on the second floor, who is being treated at a local hospital. Excellent work by fire departments from Millvale, Reserve, and Shaler Twp kept damage mainly to the second floor apartment and roof. They prevented it from spreading to very close-by structures as you can see ashes and debris on a pickup truck parked nearby .
