11/23/2005 - Lincoln - Motor Vehicle
Accident
Liberty Way
A winter storm on Thanksgiving Eve turned the roads treacherous
and were to blame for this one vehicle accident. The driver was driving towards
Bellbridge Road when she lost control of the truck, hit the guardrail, crossed
the yellow lines, and rolled over after hitting the embankment.
The driver was
entrapped and was extricated by ambulance personnel from Elizabeth Twp EMS after
breaking the rear window. The driver was able to walk out of the truck through
the rear window and was uninjured.
Units on scene included Lincoln Engine 184,
Tanker 184, Ambulance 610, Liberty Rescue 183, Elizabeth Twp 520, and Lincoln
PD. Central Rescue 147 also was dispatched and was returned back in service prior
to getting on scene due to icy conditions and patient extrication.
Crews were
just finishing cleanup when they responded directly to a furnace fire on Harrison
Road. Luckily, the homeowner put the fire out before it spread and damage was
minimal.
