Structure Fire
Monroe Avenue
A local resident narrowly escaped disaster as a candle burning
in a small bay window caused a fire, nearly setting the whole house on fire.
Port
Vue, Liberty, and Glassport #1 were dispatched for a residential structure fire
with flames showing out of a window shortly after 4:15pm on Wednesday the 4th.
Before the fire crews got on scene, the fire was reported extinguished with heavy
smoke conditions in the house. McKeesport EMS Supervisor and Officer Myers from
Port Vue PD were first and scene.
The fire crews ventilated the house, checked
for hot spots, and then cleared. The home suffered very minor smoke damage and
one broken window.
On scene units included Engine 237, Squad 237, Rescue 183,
Engine 183, Truck 161, Engine 161, McKeesport EMS Supervisor, PD Car 135, PD
Car 155.
