Liberty 183, Lincoln 184, and Port Vue 237 were dispatched
for an odor investigation on C street. Crews were having a difficult time
finding the cause of the odor. There was a definite smell of something
burning, such as rubber.
After multiple searches with nothing found, Chief
183 requested Truck 161 to bring their truck and camera to check the chimney
and roof. Truck
161 setup and found no issues with the chimney or roof area.
Crews proceeded back
into the house and determined the odor was strongest in the kitchen and living
room area. At that point, they
found the refrigerator was malfunctioning and determined that as the cause of
the smell.
The homeowner was updated and all crews cleared. Units
on scene included Engine 183-1, Engine 184, Engine 237-1, Truck 161, Liberty
Boro PD, and Elizabeth Twp EMS.
