04/23/2006 - Shaler Twp - Fatal Structure Fire

E. Gennesse Street

On Sunday, April 23rd at approximately 8:25pm Undercliff Station 264, Elfinwild Station 261, Shaler Villa Station 262, Cherry City Station 260, Aspinwall Station 102 RIT and Shaler Area EMS were dispatched to E. Gennesse Street, Shaler Township for a residential structure fire with possible entrapment. 264 Chief was first on scene and confirmed 2 people trapped inside the structure, one in the front door way and a second on the second floor. One female victim was successfully rescued from the structure and taken to the hospital. A second male victim was not successfully rescued and pronounced dead on the scene. Fire was located in a second floor bedroom and was knocked down quickly. Parkview EMS was called to assist EMS on scene and the county fire Marshall and county homicide detectives were also notified.
