May 2nd, 2007 - ALLEGHENY CO, MONROEVILLE, PA - On Wednesday, May 2nd, Monroeville Fire Company number 4 and Baskin-Robbins teamed up for 31 cent scoop night to benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. As part of the event, Baskin-Robbins donated $100,000 to the National Fallen Firefighter Foundation. Participating Baskin-Robbins stores, such as the one in Monroeville, also raised funds for local participating fire companies who took part in this event. The Monroeville event had a very large turn out with large lines waiting for the 31 cent scoops of ice cream. Monroeville Fire Company number 4 had members and apparatus on hand for citizens to look at, children to play on, give-aways for children and also a Dalmatian mascot to greet children. The even took place between 5pm-10pm and was very successful.
