On Friday August 16th, 2013 around 6:30am, Emergency crews were alerted to Durabond Coating at  3200 Youghiogheny River Rd in Liberty Borough for a reported roof on fire.

Liberty and Port Vue PD arrived on scene to find the fire mostly out with a little bit of smoldering.  The workers at Durabond were able to knock the fire down with an extinguisher.

The alarm was held to Liberty 183, Port Vue 237, White Oak Truck 299, and Lincoln Tankers 184-1 and 184-2.

White Oak’s truck crew checked the roof for extension.

A lift was used inside the building to remove some smoldering insulation and no further extension was found.  Crews cleared after about an hour on scene.
