3-alarm fire destroys Rook’s East Side Saloon in Ambridge

Fire officials are investigating a three-alarm fire that destroyed a popular Ambridge restaurant early this morning.

No was injured in the blaze, which was reported at 1 a.m. at Rook’s Cantina 505, formerly Rook‘?s East Side Saloon, at 282 Fourth St., according to Beaver County emergency officials.

The restaurant, which former Pirates pitcher Jim Rooker sold three years ago, has been in Ambridge for years. It reopened under its third new owner this May as Rook’?s Cantina 505.

The restaurant has apartments above it, but no one was in the apartments at the time of the fire, authorities said.

The cause of the fire has not been determined. The state fire marshal’s office is investigating.
